"Mrs. Kling's Math Mania" is an amazing after-school math class geared for children who are currently in 2nd or 3rd grade. Children will increase their math abilities through game playing, pattern play, number exploration, and building conceptual frameworks. Addition, subtraction, graphing, fractions, estimation, multiplication, story problems, and "number-ness" are some examples of mathematics to be addressed. All skills are based on AZ State Standards. On the final class day of each five-week session, you will be invited to our Math Mania Celebration where our students will teach you what they have learned!!!!!

Camp #1 - Mrs. Kling’s Math
Mania for 4th & 5th Graders!"
What: An amazing math camp geared for children who will be entering 4th and 5th grades. Students will increase their math abilities through game playing, number exploration, and will gain a better understanding of HOW math is used in their everyday lives! Multiplication, division, fractions, graphing, percents, estimation, and story problems are just some examples of mathematics to be addressed. All skills are aligned with AZ State Math Standards.
This will be one of the most joyful, beneficial, and fun math experiences your child may ever have!!
Your child will be a Math Maniac by the end of the camp and will be begging for more!!!!!!!!

Camp #2 - Mrs. Kling's
Brain Mania!
(For students entering 2nd-6th grades)
What: “Dr. Good Brain” will be your host as you become a “Junior Dr. Brainiac” by the end of our session! You will learn
how your brain works for learning and survival! We will
even “perform real brain surgery” on a cow’s
brain in efforts to help us understand our own brains!
Come and explore:
how your brain grows, learns, and how to “grow your brain’s dendrites” to reach your highest potential
the anatomy of your brain
your “8 Smarts” and have a better understanding of what kind of a learner you are, and how to develop weaknesses into strengths
how to keep your brain healthy and safe by eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep, and never doing drugs.
We’ll sing brain songs, do brain experiments, and even eat brain candy!

Camp #4 - "Learning Sign
Language with Mrs. Kling!”
(For students entering 2nd-6th grades)
"Friend" in Sign Language
What:Come and let your fingers do the talking! Learning sign language is tons of fun, helps you communicate with babies and deaf people, and helps you to think in ways that will enrich your own brain power! In this camp, you will learn the manual alphabet, how to communicate in sign language, how to “sing” in sign language, and more!
Mrs. Kling used to be a certified interpreter for the deaf and will share her knowledge, experiences, and passion for learning sign language with you! Who knows? This could be the basis of a future career for your child!

Camp #5 - Being
Moneywise!
What: Come and learn how to be a smart saver!!! Learn how to save your very own money in order for it to grow! In this camp session, we will learn about how to use your money wisely and “Rock and Brock” will help us understand the importance of dollars and sense! We will also
learn:
the difference between needs and wants
the importance of saving money and how it can “grow”
how to figure out percentages for saving, spending, giving, & investing when you’re older
how to decide what you can/cannot afford to buy… Students will use numerous catalogs to “buy” toys, sporting equipment, movies, etc. within their personal budget
the benefits of shopping for sales, cutting coupons and how stores may double the coupon’s value…these are some of the ways that you can help your family be “moneywise”
This camp will support your child’s foundation of “Financial Literacy” forever!
