"Mrs. Kling's Math Mania" is an amazing after-school math class geared for children who are currently in 2nd or 3rd grade. Children will increase their math abilities through game playing, pattern play, number exploration, and building conceptual frameworks. Addition, subtraction, graphing, fractions, estimation, multiplication, story problems, and "number-ness" are some examples of mathematics to be addressed. All skills are based on AZ State Standards. On 10/5/10, you will be invited to our Math Mania Celebration where our students will teach you what they have learned!!!!! Oh, happy day!
When: A five week program held on Tuesdays: 9/7, 9/14, 9/21, 9/28, 10/5 from 3:30-4:45
Where: Paradise Valley - (directions provided upon registration)

I will also teach you what you can do for yourself to help your brain reach its highest potential possible! Camp #2 - Being
Moneywise!
What:Come and learn how to be a smart saver!!! Learn how to save your very own money in order for it to grow! In this camp session, we will learn about how to use your money wisely and “Rock and Brock” will help us understand the importance of dollars and sense! We will also
learn:
the difference between needs and wants
the importance of saving money and how it can “grow”
how to figure out percentages for saving, spending, giving, & investing when you’re older
how to decide what you can/cannot afford to buy… Students will use numerous catalogs to “buy” toys, sporting equipment, movies, etc. within their personal budget
the benefits of shopping for sales, cutting coupons and how stores may double the coupon’s value…these are some of the ways that you can help your family be “moneywise”
This camp will support your child’s foundation of “Financial Literacy” forever!
Camp #3 - Mrs. Kling's
Brain Mania!
What:“Dr. Good Brain” will be your host as you become a “Junior Dr. Brainiac” by the end of our session!You will learn
how your brain works for learning and survival! We will
even “perform real brain surgery” on a cow’s
brain in efforts to help us understand our own brains!
Come and explore:
how your brain grows, learns, and how to “grow your brain’s dendrites” to reach your highest potential
the anatomy of your brain
your “8 Smarts” and have a better understanding of what kind of a learner you are, and how to develop weaknesses into strengths
how to keep your brain healthy and safe by eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep, and never doing drugs
We’ll sing brain songs, do brain experiments, and even eat brain candy!
